On November 13, Sookmyung Women's University held its final special lecture session on 'The 3rd Online Live Special Lecture for the Fourth Industrial Revolution'. The special lectures were concluded with a talk by Park Kyunghyun, senior researcher at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. The title of the lecture was "Smart yards utilize ICT technologies such as IoT, AI, and Cloud". The two-hour special lecture focused on the industrial application method of smart yards, ICT technology application cases, the future of companies and company concerns, and future talent capabilities. In addition to providing lecture information guidance before the start of the online special lecture, session hosts created a system to easily resolve student's questions and concerns. At first, Park began by stressing that in today's fast-changing world, people should seriously think about the Fourth Industrial Revolution and how to utilize big data, which is its medium. Next, he claimed that since IoT is used in various fields, it is fundamental technology for smart factories and big data analysis. He also introduced the case of smart yards in the convergence case of ICT technologies as they are being used in factories. He explained that the best-applied smart factory incorporates ICT technology step by step, and this breakdown helped lecture participants to understand it easily. After that, Park presented various career paths that Sookmyungians might consider. He spotlighted areas that used big data, and he pointed out majors that are in high demand by companies, as well as qualifications and recruitment guidelines. During the Q&A session, Sookmyungians poised various questions related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution by asking questions such as "I am curious about trends in foreign smart yards technology, and the current level of Korea" and "What domain knowledge will I need to successful manage big data?" Sookmyungians also expressed their gratitude to the guest lecture on the chat box by typing that the lecture was beneficial.
