Hi, Sookmyungians! I'm taking my first step as Editor-in-Chief of The Sookmyung Times. March is the month when many new things begin, and in the process, we will often face a crossroads of "choice." What do you think is the best choice you've made recently? What did that choice bring you? It is not an exaggeration to say that our present self was created as a result of countless choices that we have made so far. Like everyone else, I had quite a few regrets deciding something. Because choosing something means that we have to reject something else that we don't choose. However, the choices I've made so far have brought me positive results. From entering SMWU and deciding to live alone in Seoul to joining SMT, I often think about what kind of life I would be living now if I hadn't made those decisions, but I can't think what that would be. So, I have a belief: "Oh, whatever choice I make will eventually produce good results. So don't think too deeply even if I'm worried now."
"Drive It Like You Stole It." This song is on the soundtrack of my favorite movie, <Sing Street(2016)>. When I was 16, I went to the movie theater alone and watched it. I was fascinated by the message the movie was trying to convey and music, and <Sing Street(2016)> has been my favorite movie ever since. Our lives are a car, we're the driver and we've got a handle on the car. Depending on which direction we drive along which path, and at what speed, the car will travel different routes and to different destinations. However, whether the road is unpaved or well-paved, the car will eventually take you somewhere beautiful. So, don't hesitate at the crossroads of choice and choose what you want now. Also, after you choose, look forward and drive. Like stealing something and running away, I will also try the things I want to do at SMWU and make many great choices. Therefore, I would like to introduce magazine no. 381, which has been created by countless choices and efforts by SMT's 90th group of reporters. We hope you have a good time with SMT.
