The Sookmyung Student Creativity Space has been launched at Sookmyung Women's University for the benefit of students. It is located on the first floor of the Student Union Building, where Snow Bridge used to be. Operating hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m, based on the second week of May. The space was created by SMWU's LINK 3.0 project group. LINK, which stands for Leaders in Industry-University Cooperation, is an industrial development project for universities conducted by the Ministry of Education. It aims to accomplish SMWU's founding philosophy of "producing women leaders who contribute to national, ethnic, and human development" through various projects. As a project of Link 3.0, the Sookmyung Student Creativity Space aims to foster students' creative learning and cooperation including free discussion, collaboration, and seminars. To officially name the new space, SnoWe, the school community, held a contest. On March 31, as a result of the contest, LINK 3.0 announced the name "Snowball." Snowball has a total of two floors and unlike the school library there are no designated seats. Therefore, students can use any vacant seats they want without going through a reservation process. On the first floor, there are several single-user desks. At some of them, personal stands and wireless charging ports are provided for convenience. The first and second floor is similarly arranged, but the second floor is characterized by a long desk running down the center. This desk is meant to be used as a communal space rather than a private space like the single seats. After using Snowball, Joo Hae-lin, Division of Business Administration '21, said, "At first, I was very curious about the new space being launched in school. I think it's helpful that Snowball, which is a space that students can use freely, is now in operation. I go there during the time between lectures to study and it's convenient that there are wireless charging ports. It is a comfortable place to study or take a break." As the space is newly opened this year, it is expected that more students will frequently use Snowball for a variety of purposes.
