From December 10th to 21st, the 47th Student Council Reflying started pre- application for the SMU school bus.   Reflying promised to operate an SMU school bus system for students commuting to school by bus and train.  The pre-application participant enrollment was its first step in ensuring its campaign pledge would succeed.  Kim Sinjae, Student Council President, said, “Before implementing the pledge, we opened pre-application for the school bus to determine exact student needs.  We will announce routes and times after analyzing the results of the survey.”  Only students who commute from these five regions: Incheon, Yong-in, Ilsan, Suwon, and Bundang, where the bus will likely operate, were allowed to pre-register for a seat on the bus.  After finishing the pre-application, Reflying will determine detailed routes by region with communication through Kakaotalk group chatrooms etc.  The expected fare ranges from 2,000 won to 3,000 won.  Ha Miyeon, Department of German Language & Culture ’14, said, ”I think a school bus system would help students who commute to school by bus.  However, a fare of 2,000 to 3,000 won for a one way trip is a bit pricy for students.  In addition, the system doesn’t take into consideration students who live outside of those five regions.”  The operation of a school bus system may start around the middle of March because students will not have clearly confirmed their timetables until the first week in March.
