‘Excitement, Fun and Happiness,’ an exchange of words concert, was held on September 11th in the Veritas Building, Room B101. Park Juhyun, from the ICT Fusion Laboratory, said “The talk concert was held to celebrate Sookmyung’s new College of Engineering and to promote the idea among students that you do not need to be a SKY student to survive.” From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. three successful people in their field talked and answered questions about their lives. Vice President of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Kim Sunghun, venture company LOC & ALL, also known as driver Kim service, President, Park Jonghwan, and Google head office search team’s leader, Lee Junyoung, were among the guests at the concert. Park Eunchae from the Division of Child Welfare & Studies ’15 said, “I thought the concert might only be geared to engineering students, but I learned a lot from the guest speakers’ lives.” The speakers not only talked about their areas of specialty, they also talked about their lives. Words that frequently popped up at the concert were ‘bottom’ and ‘failure,’ and the concert offered some insight into how they turned those problems into success. To reach success, Kim emphasized desperation towards your desire. Park emphasized being persistent on your task, and Lee emphasized seeking something that only “I” can do.
