From September 14th to 15th, a gender equality festival was held at Queen Sunheon Building Square at Sookmyung Women's University. It was hosted by the Counseling Center for Gender Equality. Lee Kyungsun, director of the Counseling Center for Gender Equality and festival organizer said, “Through this gender equality festival, I hope Sookmyungians learn more about their menstrual cycle and contraceptives in order to enjoy a healthy sex life, and become assertive when making decisions regarding sex.” The festival was a participatory program that operated like a tour. It was held to correct distorted sex ideas among students by providing students with proper information and basic knowledge about sex and by spreading a healthier sex culture. Yoo Hyeseung, a participant in the festival from the Department of Composition '15 said, “It was a good opportunity to learn the basics of proper sexual behavior and use of contraceptive measures through fun activities.” Actually, during the festival, there were various experience activities such as the experience of being pregnant, learning how to put on a condom, learning about the various types of contraceptives, taking a true or false quiz, and so on. Therefore, students learnt about the sex properly, not lightly nor wearily.
