On March 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m, a special presentation designed to inform students about the university’s 2016 international exchange programs was held at the Samsung Convention Center, and on March 3rd to 4th, an exposition was also held at the Global Lounge.  Kang Soyoung, Director of the Program from the Office of International Affairs, said, “Because students do not appear to be well informed about the numerous international exchange programs that Sookmyung Women’s University offers, we decided to hold a presentation workshop and host an exposition in order to gain more student participation.”  Currently, Sookmyung Women’s University offers exchanges to over 341 overseas universities.  That is Sookmyung Women’s Universtiy has established sister relations with universities in 54 different nations.  The programs are categorized into five separate groupings: General Exchange, Personally funded Exchange, Multiple Degrees, FSU Disney Internship, and Long-term Internship.  The presentation detailed the differences between those 5 kinds of programs, qualifications needed to apply, the selection process, and so on.  At the exposition, students were able to enjoy personal accounts of life overseas from upper year students who had previously participated in an international exchange program.  Jeon Hyojeong, student in the Department of Library & Information Science ’14, said, “I am considering stepping up to the challenge of participating in an international exchange program.  Therefore, I joined this event to learn about the kinds of programs and to find out if they were a good fit to me.  Through the event, I learnt a lot and got some accurate information.”
