On November 1st in the CC Plaza, the UI Design program for humanities students was held.  It ran from 10 a.m.  to 4 p.m.  and offered lectures on planning content and structural design, basic 2D graphics, and making GUI & content production.  Lee Eunsil, representative for the program said, “As Sookmyung Women’s University is being sponsored by the Korean government, it must lead the way in convergence education for humanities students.  Nowadays, many humanities students are finding it hard to get a job.  To help them, last year the university has begun offering lectures on smartphone application development and this year it is offering UI Design courses.”  Initially, the program was only offered to 40 humanities students, but it became extremely popular in a very short period of time.  Kim Jungeun, a student in the Department of Statistics ’16, said, “The program will prove to be very valuable to humanities students.  I hope many students receive the training they need through the program.  Students who receive the education will surely diversify their skills allowing them to enter a variety of disciplines.” The UI Design program will be offered twice a year in June and November.  Many students have requested these types of programs, and Sookmyung Women’s University has worked to provide them for its students.  Lastly, humanities students are encouraged to take advantage of these free high-quality programs at Sookmyung Women’s University, which will guarantee students better their abilities and chances of employment.
