'The Second Annual Sookmyung Creative Composition Essay Contest' hosted by the College of General Education and the Liberal Education Laboratory was held on November 30, 2017.  To promote the event among Sookmyungians, a briefing session, in talk show format, was organized beforehand.  The session took place on November 1, from 5:00 p.m.  to 6:30 p.m., in room 701 of the Myungshin Building.  The talk show was hosted by MC, and three professional and two student panels were present.  Everyone on stage shared opinions and stories on 'aversion', the Essay Contest topic.  Audience members were also welcomed to openly share ideas and ask questions.  Assistant Professor Gu Yeonsang of the College of General Education presented his thoughts on 'aversion' saying, "Social conflicts have been and will continue to be hard-to-solve problems.  Aversion is one of those problems.  Although it may take a lot of time, this event seeks rational solutions, not precise answers but wisdom through discussion that can help resolve and decrease social conflicts and satisfy all members of society." One of the panel participants shared her reasons for participating.  Shin Jukyung of the School of English Language and Literature '15 said, "I believe student participation at official school events hold profound meaning.  My decision to become a panel participant was made with the desire to share realistic and vivid stories with my fellow Sookmyungians here today." Through the discussion that lasted over an hour, Sookmyungians attempted to propose sound resolutions to the issue of aversion.
