The 2008 Study ＆ Travel Fair was held under the sponsorship of the Student Service Center at SMU from the 29 to the 30 of April. It was set up on the square in front of the Queen Sunheon Building. The program lasted from 10 A.M. till 4 P.M.. It was aimed at anyone in this university who has an interest in traveling overseas or studying abroad. There were many global coordinators, who have been to foreign countries, on hand to answer questions which inexperienced students are not sure of. The friendly coordinators explained everything such as expense, accommodation and the best places travelers should go to, so students could get advices more easily than if they looked for information on the Internet or at a travel agency. Furthermore, plenty of prizes—like a Eurail pass, Australian bus pass, digital camera, MP3 player, and Cultural Merchandise Coupons- were prepared for all participants. Coordinator Lee (24) who was in charge of United States of America travel, said, "When I first planned a trip to the U.S.A, I didn't know what to do to prepare, because there was no-one to give me advice and no information. However, I hope that my juniors at SMU will avoid mistakes thanks to my suggestions and I'm really glad to be of service to them as a more experienced person." Participant Kwon (21) commented enthusiastically after this event, "This is so helpful for me that I can lighten my worries when it comes to travel. My plan will take concrete shape because of this program." Another participant, Lee (19), said, "I asked some questions about Japan. Better communication with an experienced person means fewer errors, and fewer errors mean more pleasure and that will save us money and time."
