Celebrating Special Ceremony for Sookmyungians

On May 8, a celebration of coming-of-age and a gratitude ceremony for parents were held in Immanuel Hall on the Renaissance Plaza. To celebrate their coming-of-age, many students and their parents participated in this event. The event started with an explanation of the meaning and the origin of the celebration of one’s coming of age. The event continued with a congratulatory address. President Kyungsook Lee said, “When greeting your coming of age, you should think about its meaning. Also, I hope that you will become respectable leaders in the twenty-first century.” Subsequently, two students from the College of Human Ecology performed a ceremony as part of the celebrations, and President Lee joined them as the guest of honor. Also, many students who participated in the events followed them. Afterwards, many performances such as traditional dance, chorus, etc. were enjoyed at the favors for parents of students.
