‘Theater S,’ which was opened at Renaissance Plaza on August 21, is staging Musical Hamlet first. Before than, it was called ‘Sookmyung Art Center’ and held some concerts per year. However it was reborn as theater only for musical recently.
Different from ordinary middle sized theaters which are installed fundamental hardware only, ‘Theater S’ is completely equipped with sounder and lighting fixtures needed in musical and it pursuits new cultural space satisfying differentiated competitive power. The person concern ‘Theater S’ said, “After Hamlet, we will stage on Shakespeare’s popular works such as Twelfth Night and Othello continuously. ‘Theater S’ would be the complex cultural artistic place where people can meet high quality performances.”
Sookmyungians said, “It’s really nice that ‘Theater S’ opened in our university because it’s close to us so we can spend our time with culture more. Also, Sookmyungians could get a special discount for performances.” ‘Theater S’ is expected as a Mecca of cultural place in Sookmyung Women’s University.
