On April 2, 2009, in the Samsung Convention Center in Centennial Hall, a ‘Visit Sookmyung Women’s University (SMU) Day’ was held from 2p.m. This event was organized to introduce SMU’s various programs and its educational vision. President Young Sil Han addressed the attendees, saying, “SMU is launching various enterprises like exchange programs both inside and outside of the country, and business programs connected with corporations. With these enterprises, SMU will cultivate Sookmyungians as talented people.” Jun Mi Yeon, a parent of SMU freshmen Lee Eun Young from the Division of Political Science & Public Administration, said, “Through this event, I feel proud of SMU which is my daughter’s university. Especially in the President’s statement, I felt how SMU loves all its students, so I appreciate Sookmyung’s affection.” This event was divided into 2 parts. The first part was the meeting between parents and President Young Sil Han and the chance to confirm SMU’s vision. The second part provided the chance for conversations between parents and each department’s professors to provide detailed information about students’ specialties and the possible courses to take after graduation.
