 On March 7, 2009, Parliament Chairman Kim Hyong-Oh‘s invitation lecture was held in the Han Sang-Eun Lounge in Centennial Hall.   His talk, based on his inquiry into the country in the course of his pilgrimage, was a story about nature, history and culture in .  He wrote a book, ‘Letter of Hope Sent on the Street’, and this lecture was related to it.  Not only students who are taking the Leadership course and who wanted to meet Parliament Chairman Kim, but also President Young-Sil Han and many professors attended this lecture.  Also, many news reporters came to cover the lecture.  Parliament Chairman Kim recommended several places of interest for Sookmyungians.  He presented ’s greatest natural attractions; Tongyeong, which has been called theEastern Naples, the Gwangju arboretum which is the oldest state-run arboretum in the world, and Woopo swamp, using pictures.  In addition, for students who cannot travel far during the semester, he recommendedLeeumArtGalleryand the National Museum of Korea.  At the end of the lecture, he talked about national land development, saying, “When the Government reforms land for development, it must pay due regard to nature; that is we should protect the land as much as possible.”  Through attending this lecture, Sookmyungians had a chance to become aware of the beauty of the land and nature, and come to know the greatest attractions in Korea.
