Through 2010 Winter Global Explore Program, I visited to Paris, France during the vacation. It was awesome! As a member of Sookmyung Press Team, I explored french press, from Le Figaro, France télévisions and other organizations. The subject of the project was ‘Korean Print journalism’s crisis and its survivor through french press and related universities.’ It was an experience that I will never forget. However, to have this experience, I had to give up training at an English language institute. In addition, I have had to abandon or choose one at every supreme moment of many things because I am editor-inchief of SMT. Some people said to me, “You’re so foolish.” However, since I entered SMT, I have never once regretted my decision. I believe that I am brilliant when I do my best and self-imposed work.
Sookmyungians, you have also been at a crossroads. Clearly, you should choose what you want and don’t regret. If you have a dream, don’t hesitate on your road though most people miss the road not taken. Select your own road with confidence and walk continually. And then, you shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence on the end of the road. Here is the well-known saying from famous movie, Dead Poets Society.
“It is difficult to maintain your own beliefs in the face of others. We all have great need of acceptance, but you must trust that your beliefs are unique, even though others may think them odd or unpopular. Robert Frost said, “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I... I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” Now, I want to you to find your own walk right now.”
