The completion ceremony of Sookmyung Business Incubation Center was held on March 4. Recently in Korea, many young people get more interest in starting a business because finding a job is becoming more difficult. And to keep up with this change, the Korean government is presenting various policies. In this point, the SM Business Incubation Center is expected to fulfill this policy and build up a solid foundation to continue this interest. SMU opened the first Entrepreneurship Major in Korea to train systematically young businesspeople. Also, an Entrepreneurship Center provides competition or symposium for general women as well as entrepreneurialism or education on starting the business for Sookmyungians. Now SM Business Incubation Center will be run, linked together with the attached organization, the Entrepreneurship Center. Min Jaewon, School of English ’11 said, “It was a very unpleasant time to build up this center because of the noise and dust. However, finally BIC was opened in this new semester. I hope this center will assist many SMU students who think about starting businesses, not only words.” Sookmyungians expect that the SM Business Incubation Center shows SMU’s a specialized corporate system from the preparation stage to the stage of growth.
