From August 10th, the Student Service Center has been offering consultation services about language study and training in the counsel room of the internet cafe (room 205 of the Student Building) from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. every Friday. The program has small group of about five to seven students and is divided into two parts.
First, a woman from EF Education, which is international company which deals in programs of language study, takes charge of the overall teaching part of the program. She said “Korea has a good circumstance for studying English. So, it is possible to do well after you study English passionately in Korea. However, if you want to study English with native people, Language study and training will be a good chance for you.” She gives time to answer students’ questions. From such time, students can solve their curiosity.
Second, a woman from Sookmyung’s Office of External Affairs talks about the programs on the campus. She said, “The Office of External Affairs has been preparing students to send abroad as exchange students. To be selected as an exchange student, you have to get a good grade on the TOEFL(Test of English as a Foreign Language) and score well with the school. The External Affairs Office has a system of offering you grades for things you do outside of class, such as original language or volunteer activities.” The External Affairs Office is currently offering personal counsel for interested students.
