On April 11 to 12, 2018, Sookmyung Women’s University Student Council, RE:bound, distributed snacks to boost and pump Sookmyungians as they got ready for exams.  The snack distribution was held in front of the Student Union Building.  Every currently enrolled Sookmyungian was entitled to receive the yummy treats.  This year, the goodie bag contained treats from Loacker, Dongwon, Hannahpad, GNM Life, and Bliss Yoga(Sookmyung Women’s University branch) sponsored the event.  The event ran from 11 a.m. until the 1,500 snack items ran out on both days, but students were seen gathering around the distribution booth from 10:30 a.m.  Promptly at 11 a.m., students, after showing their ID cards, were given their snacks.  At times, the queue was so long, some students had to wait up to 30 minutes to receive the treats.  Some of the snacks, such as cup noodles and nuts, were distributed on both days, but other items differed.  Students who received a food item were thrilled.  Kwon Soomin, Department of Law ’18 said, “Compared to my student union fee, I think I’m enjoying many more perks.  I’m so grateful.”  She also added that she is nervous about taking her first ever university midterm exam, but she swore to try hard and do her best, energized with the snack she’d just received.  Unfortunately, some students were not so lucky due to conflicts with their timetables.  Nevertheless, RE:bound was trying its best to provide for all Sookmyungians, so it has promised to prepare a late-night snack distribution event on April 19.  Cho Hyun Oh, Department of Law ’15 and Student Council President said, “The purpose of the event is to show our support to Sookmyungians suffering hard under the pressures of exams.  Since this is a beloved event, we took it upon ourselves to increase the quantity of snacks distributed compared to the previous year.”  She also said, “We would like to give even more snacks to students, so have approached several additional companies in the hopes of securing even more sponsorship.  We are glad that students are enjoying our endeavour.  We hope that every Sookmyungian wishing to have a tasty treat is able to receive one so that they get the energy to succeed on their exams.”
