Improve Your English Reading Skill with President

On March 29, 2009 from P.M. 4:30 the first English public reading: ‘English Public Reading with President’ was held at the Study Lounge situated in the 1st floor of Sookmyung Women’s University Library.  The public reading was held under Graduate School of TESOL and Sookmyung Women’s University Library to encourage Sookmyungians especially who are participating in the English Reading Marathon and for their improvement of English reading skills and pleasure reading.
Headed by Sunhae Hwang, the Dean of Graduate School of TESOL, many professors and Sookmyungians took part in this event also Isaac Durst instructor of EBS, Korea’s famous education broad casting station.  Before the reading haegeum, a Korean fiddle, player Eunil Kang and Sookmyung Gayagum Orchestra played for this event.  As a fist public speaker of this project, President Young Sil Han read the first chapter of book <Ping, A Frog in Search of a New Pond> by Stuart Avery Gold followed Isaac Durst’s reading.  She also gave a speech of encouragement to student to complete the whole course who took part in this reading marathon.
