From July 30th to August 1st, the Junior ROTC Leadership Camp was held in Han Sangen Lounge of Centennial Hall.  The camp is a Sookmyung Leadership Camp for girl’s high school students.  It is hosted by the Institute of Leadership & General Education, and this year marks its third anniversary.  During camp, participants attend various programs about leadership.  They listen to special leadership and security lectures and engage in workshops with their respective teams.  Especially, ROTC cadets at Sookmyung Woman’s University mentor the students.  Jung Seona, Director of Institute of Leadership & General Education said, “This camp has lots of advantages for both SMU and participating students.  We can promote leadership spread the word that SMU was the first university to have a woman ROTC program on its campus to education among woman and introduce the fact that SMU has first turned out woman ROTC to many high school students considering a future at Sookmyung Woman’s University.”  This camp combines ROTC training and leadership.  In addition, through this camp, the image of Sookmyung is improved.  Kim Yurianna, a student of Youngdongil High School said, “I grasped the true meaning of leadership through this Junior ROTC camp.  I think it is very useful for students who are interested in the military or leadership like me.”
