In the month of October, Brownie Date, held by Sookmyung Women’s University’s Student Union, facilitated their communication with Sookmyungians. It was arranged by the Student Union of SMU and was one technique used by the Student Union to better connect with students. This is the first Brownie Date ever requested by university students. During Brownie Date, students talked about their concerns and wants from SMU. Students ate delicious brownies and drank mild coffee. After Brownie Date, members of the Students’ Club Union expressed pleasure, saying, “This was my first time to participate in such an event, and I was glad that I could add to improvements in the university environment. If Brownie Date is held again next year, I would love to participate again.” One student who participated in Brownie Date vitalized her dreary university life and stated, “Compared with last year, the Student Union at SMU is really paying attention to school affairs.” Student President Park Myungeun stated, “I worry about communication among students, so I endeavored to create a place of communication. Brownie Date is such the forum, and it was interesting because we heard various students’ voices.” Besides Brownie Date, SMU’s Student Union attempted to vitalize communication with students by conducting survey on Student Union and publishing its October newsletter.
