Every college student has experience in doing assignments at least once and looking for scholarly papers or academic journals. The sea of academic world information where students can find the information they want is called an academic database (DB). Since general academic DBs are operated for a fee, the information that can be viewed free of charge is extremely limited. However, Sookmyung Women's University Central Library allows free access to academic information for Sookmyungians. As of January 20, 2022, the Central Library distributed card news called "Summary of Academic Information for Sookmyungians," so students who have had difficulty accessing academic information can check it on the SNOWE website. Students can go to the Sookmyung Women's University's Central Library page, and click "search for data," and "electronic data." All Sookmyungians can easily access the website by logging in with just their student school number and password. The academic DB encompasses more than 20 different fields, including statistics, surveys, natural sciences, biology, law, and music. There are also new DBs being offered at this time. For example, 'The New York Times inEDUCATION' is an online education platform created by the New York Times for students and professors. It consists of 16 subject areas, providing lecture materials such as case studies and learning questions required by professors and students. In addition, the central library also provides various types of e-books. 'Kyobo e-books' provide domestic e-books in all subjects and 'The Audion Audio Book' provides an audiobook in which professional voice actors record books in various fields in the form of acting or reading. The two types of e-books mentioned above have the advantage of being able to be used on mobile devices as they have separate apps. Video lectures related to public officials and employment and certificates, major domestic and international certificates in the computer and IT fields, and language-related courses are also available, which are expected to be of great help to students preparing for employment.
