The Sookmyung Women's University's Job Plus Center held a special lecture called "Preparing for Major Company Job Aptitude Tests." This lecture was led by guest instructor Park Su-ong for four days from August 12 to 16, excluding Independence day. Students took classes in real-time through Zoom. This lecture was for graduates and those preparing for employment at major companies in the second half of 2024, as well as those in lower grades who want to prepare in advance for employment at major companies in the future. The class included an introduction to job aptitude tests for major companies, solutions to past exam questions, and tips for solving them. In particular, in the data interpretation lecture on the second day, the instructor gave information to help solve the data interpretation-related problems that have appeared in public or major company exams. He gave the participants about two minutes to solve each problem, and then analyzed the correct and incorrect responses after collecting them through a zoom survey system. After that, the instructor taught students how to approach and solve the problems. Students who had already prepared for the test for a long time were able to review their problem-solving methods and practice ways to reduce the test-taking time. Also, students who were taking the test for the first time were able to learn about the types of problems that came up and how to solve them. Kim Dam-eun, Department of Mathematics '24, said, "I took this course because I was interested in getting a job at a major company after graduation. I didn't know much about aptitude tests and this was my first time encountering them, but it was helpful because I was able to learn how to solve them with the other students and the instructor." This course not only taught simple problem-solving methods but also presented the criteria for evaluation by the companies from the perspective of the evaluator and the problem-setting committee. Also, he explained the methods that can be considered from the perspective of the problem-setting committee, making it a helpful course for students interested in getting a job at a major company.
