On May 12th the Electronic Information Fair was held at the Main Library of Sookmyung Women’s University. The fair was held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Park Gyeonhee, Team leader of Digital Information, said, “We organized this fair to inform students about services that the Main Library at Sookmyung Women’s University offers. We would like to see Sookmyungians make more use of the services detailed at the fair.” At the Fair, 15 outside enterprises described the programes they provide on the Main Library website. Experts enlightened Sookmyungians about using databases, e-books and e-journals at various booths. After visiting at least 4 booths, students could register for free giveaways like pencils, pencil cases, memo pads, and so on as well as enter other contests. On May 20th prizewinners were announced on the Main Library website. Kim Jihyo, Division of Computer Science ’15, said, “I participated in the Fair to learn about attaining sources and data for paper research. Also, I was pleased to receive a small takeaway for participating. I learnt many valuable things related to using the Main Library website. However, I think more time should have been allotted for website explanation. Also, the library should maintain its rule of silence, but the event filled the air with noise. Certain people who were studying in the Main Library must have suffered some inconvenience. Besides, the site for the Fair was a bit too constrictive.”
