Have you ever seen that picture?  Probably, many people might be faced with the gray-eyed and decollete woman who has long neck in the picture.  It is Amedeo Modigliani's one of famous works and the heroin is his lover Jeanne Hébuterne.  It's no more than about ten years, since the name of Jeanne Hébuterne has been became generally known.  Then, don't you wonder what happened to two outstanding artists who are deeply in love each other?  So without further ado, there were an exhibition of which Amedeo Modigliani and Jeanne Hébuterne. 

Amedeo Modigliani tried to find his original and progressive artistic path among various trend of art in the early part of the 20th century.  While Jeanne Hébuterne had plentiful artistic talent from her childhood and was confident artist painted daring self nude picture.  Although, too bold sexual depiction by woman wad prohibited in those days, she expressed her passion and inspiration.  However, the more time went by, the more her art of drawing was similar to Modigliani.  It is that, Modilgliani is her sweet heart, artistic master and associate.  Modilgliani left a few works of art during just three years since he met Jeanne.  In addition, Modigliani's many portraits of Jeanne showed real tenderness.

The Russian sculptor Chana Orloff introduced Modigliani to a beautiful 19-year-old art student 14 years juniority to him named Jeanne Hébuterne.  They became to fall in love.  During a trip to Nice, he produced most of the paintings that later became his most popular and valued works.  The works would be widely known and attain fame for ages to come.  Because his health deteriorated, finally Modigliani died on January 24, 1920. 

At most two days after Modigliani's death, Jeanne threw herself out of a fifth-floor window killing herself Jeanne, who was nearly nine months pregnant.  Modigliani was interred in Père Lachaise Cemetery and Jeanne was buried beside Modigliani later.  How sad but resplendent love in the art world is.  So their love has been called as the love to death which even the death can't divide.

Jeanne Hébuterne is not only famous artist's lover but also real artist who has a great artistic temperament and passion.  In this exhibition, the visitors could see her own inclination and the art of drawing.  Some people who have visited this exhibition said that they prefer Jeanne's works.  However, Modigliani and Jeanne's works had being resemble each other in tendency toward art is worthy of attention.  In all probability, they shared an artistic sympathy and feeling as well as affection and love. 

In this exhibition, there were their genealogical table, acquaintances and their family relation and souvenir shop.  Above all, an effective display due to the chronological or movement order, the visitors could see in accordance with their story.  It will be worth seeing a pair of lover works of art and lots of material as well as their burning love.  Because of lots of the works were made by their love.
