Amedeo Modigliani tried to find his original and progressive artistic path among various trend of art in the early part of the 20th century. The Russian sculptor Chana Orloff introduced Modigliani to a beautiful 19-year-old art student 14 years juniority to him named Jeanne Hébuterne. They became to fall in love. During a trip to Nice, he produced most of the paintings that later became his most popular and valued works. The works would be widely known and attain fame for ages to come. Because his health deteriorated, finally Modigliani died on January 24, 1920.
At most two days after Modigliani's death, Jeanne threw herself out of a fifth-floor window killing herself Jeanne, who was nearly nine months pregnant. Modigliani was interred in Père Lachaise Cemetery and Jeanne was buried beside Modigliani later. How sad but resplendent love in the art world is.
