On September 1, Sookmyungians gathered for a briefing about participating in international exchanges as a way to become global leaders. The presentation was held in the Veritas Building B101. Sookmyung Women’s University has established a number of sisterhood relationships with foreign universities in various countries. It has supported a large number of students financially and with documentation on their endeavor to study abroad in order to expand their knowledge. Students who participate in an exchange program provide hardcopy documents. They also must have passed an interview. Sookmyung looks at all applicants and chooses programme appropriate candidates based on a number of criteria like credit attainment and TOEIC score. This year’s international exchange program will recruit students according to three different categories: students who wish to study abroad continuously for this second semester, students who would like to experience overseas university life on a short-term basis, and students who want an oversea internship. At the presentation, a brief summary of each exchange student program was made from 11:00 to 12:30. Then from 1:00 to 5:30 in the Global Lounge, students were given the opportunity to meet with university representatives individually. Students could do 1:1 counseling program and through it, students were given the opportunity to hear realistic advice that only a person who experienced could know.
