Few weeks have passed since the end of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Every player did their utmost best. People around the world saw ethical sports conduct the spirit of sports from their beloved athletes. I was deeply touched by the friendship expressed between two speed skaters: Lee Sanghwa and Kodaira Nao. Although they are rivals and have competed at many international events for years, their strong friendly rivalry was clearly visible by all. When they hugged after their game, I cheered and clapped in front of my TV. Under the same rule, sports connect people from various cultural backgrounds. Athletics transcend languages, nationalities, educational backgrounds, and disabilities. Sports kindle enthusiasm of the world. This is the power of sports.
A journal may sound diametrically opposite to sports, but journals and articles hit peoples’ heart with cold hard logic and honest truths. Naturally, well-written articles should not contain opinion or emotion; however, it does not mean journalists are cold-blooded. Instead, journalists are persons full of passion, for no one can write a good article without passion and will. A journalist, like a sports player, shows a cool head but has a warm heart. They both run eagerly towards the goal of bringing the world closer. An article exposes the facts, turns peoples’ eyes towards the truth, and kindles the masses’ hearts, the mirror image of sports players. In other words, essential they do the same job and accomplish the same goals except that they do it in different stadiums.
