Informal Discussion Between President Han and Sookmyung’s Journalism Organs

On September 30, President Young Sil Han and the two journalism organs at Sookmyung, The Sookmyung Times and Sookdae Shin Bo, had an informal gathering for discussion. This meeting was the second formal event for President Young Sil Han in which to meet students directly, after the ceremony of awarding excellent students for their grades. “To let people know about and develop Sookmyung, our journalists’ part is very important.” President Young Sil Han, emphasizing the importance of the press, said. She also presented a vision of Sookmyungians’ advances into journalism. In order to realize this, President Young Sil Han promised various and positive supports such as a solution to the campus journalism organs’ welfare problems, expanding an organized network between students and alumna, and increasing the opportunities for journalism training. President Young Sil Han requested that reporters on campus should pursue healthy criticism while emphasizing open minds as journalists. Besides, President Young Sil Han gave liberal encouragement to Sookmyung’s journalists.
