From 4 to 5 March, 2009, Sookmyung Women’s University’s (SMU) the first ‘Haeoreum Festival’ was held. This ‘Haeoreum Festival’ was as the first enterprise of CHANGE, the 41th SMU’s student government, and based on introducing association and Leadership groups in SMU.
In this festival, many associations and Leadership groups gave publicity to freshmen for the purpose of recruiting. CHANGE, who set up this festival, offered students SMU pocket books and held various events from Bibimbob making event to cut the tuition fees movement with yogurt.
“It is very festive and joyful experience with which to start my university student life. It is also very fruitful chance to know about various association or leadership groups in Sookmyung,” Said Kim Hye-jin (freshman in College of Liberal Arts).
Through this festival CHANGE intended to break down over individualism which prevailing in women’s university. For this purpose, additionally, they announced planning to drive various events.
