On August 13, orientation, campus tour and welcome party were held for students who participated in ‘Summer School on Korean Language and Culture 2009’ At P.M. 2:00 in 505 of Centennial Hall, orientation was held. 19 foreign students who took part in this program are from Japanese universities such as Waseda University, Chuo University, Ritsumeikan University. And this program was managed by Office of International Affairs of Sookmyung Women’s University (SMU). Foreign students stayed Korea from August 12 to September 11 and they took Korean language class, went on field trip to National Folk Village, and took part in the Korean food making class.
On the other hand, Song Soo Young, Program Coordinator of Office of International Affairs notified that SMU admitted 28 foreign students from various countries such as Bangladesh, Vietnam, for 2009 fall semester. Ruksana and Asma are sisters from Bangladesh and they said they want to learn about various kind of IT in SMU and want to put fight into Bangladesh’s girls.
