Wednesday music appreciation meeting was held by College of Music in SMU in Musical Library on September 21. This meeting titled with ‘The World of String Ensemble’ was started on 12’o clock and continued for an hour. About 30 students and professors had enjoyable time not only listening to music but eating some food and drink on offer. Professor Chai Heecheol was an emcee of the meeting, so he explained simply about the music before listening to it. Students and professors listened to all 4 music on that day, F. Schubert, J. Brahmas, A. Schonberg. Especially Der Tod und das Madchen of F. Schubert was offered with score to make people understand it more easily. “Classical music was hard to listen for me, because it was quite boring. However in this meeting, professor gave information about that song, so I can listen to music more interestingly.” said Kim, ’11 School of English. Wednesday music appreciation meeting will be continued two times per a month until November: October 12, 26, November 9 and 23.
