Sookmyung Women’s University signed the “Global Best” industrialeducational cooperation letter of intent with the global media group Walt Disney’s affiliated cable TV channel, Disney Channel, last February 4th. “Global Best” is for child education and training talented individuals. Sookmyung is the first Korean university which cooperates with Disney. At this signing ceremony, the president of Sookmyung, Sunhye Hwang and president of the Korean Disney Channel, Kim Munyeon came as representatives of each institution. They will set up a cooperation system and mutually supply abundant educational video files for the managing of the Sookmyung Nursery, which was built in 1974, and other kindergartens of Sookmyung. Also, they will support employment of undergraduates and enforce internship programs for bringing up global talented women in the media industry. President Sunhye Hwang said, “Our university has been a Mecca of child education from when we installed the first Division of Child Welfare & Studies in Korea. By this letter of intent, Soft Touch of Sookmyung and the Disney Channel will contribute in cultivating global women leadership. ”
