On April 5th, 2 p.m, there was library guidance at the Central Library, conducted especially for foreign students. Several foreign students participated, including Vietnamese, Ugandan and Saudi Arabian. This program dealt with two practical contents : Information and communication education, and library tour. Particularly, it was focused on carrying out the guidance in the newly organized library homepage. Using the Internet directly at the training room, they learned more about how to use the library website. Also, during the library tour, they went to each floor with a learning-guide who informed them about the location of books and how to find, borrow, and return the books. The students who participated in this program were really satisfied and said, “It was really helpful, since the library is so big that it was difficult to use by myself.” Also, the academic information service team who acted as hosts expressed contentment and said, “The foreign students enjoyed and were grateful for the services, so we feel worthwhile doing it.” The event was held from April 1st to 11th, and anyone could participate, including all students and foreign professors. Depending on the library’s schedule, the education program can be held anytime if there are requests. (www.lib.sookmyung.ac.kr)
