On May 7th, Sookmyung Women’s University held its third Student Guidance Day, when students enjoy a class-free day with their professors. Various events were prepared by each college, department as well as the university itself, directed by the Students Services. While each college and department held their own events in various locations, in the Queen Sunheon Square booths were set up for events such as ‘Mentoring Dates with Professors.’ A staff at the Students Services commented, “We held this event in order to help students interact with their professors and develop life-long plans.” Professor Jung Byungsam fromthe Department of History and Culture commented,“It was nice to talk to students about daily matters outside of class. However, it would be better to divide the students into smaller groups rather than according to their majors and grades.” Meanwhile, ‘Movie Dates with Professors,’ which is a discussion program involving watching films with their professors was also held. A scavenger hunt was supposed to be held at 2 p.m. in the Queen Sunheon Square, but was canceled due to its scheduled time coinciding with Civil Defense Training.
