Sookmyung Women's University supports students who want to participate in global exchange programs such as the overseas student exchange and the overseas internship program, and it annually hosts an exhibition aimed at informing the student about global exchange programs. The global exchange program exhibition helps Sookmyungians prepare for programs by having former Sookmyungian participants of programs detail their experiences. This year, the event was held on November 5 through Zoom due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic situation. The exhibition ran for four and a half hours with various students detailing their student exchange or overseas internship experience. In total, there were nine presentation sessions. Only students who had preregistered in advance were granted access to the Zoom conference meeting, and they were informed of the countries and universities that former experienced participants would speak on. The presentations included countries such as France, Ghana, Germany, and the United States and described the characteristics of the nations, the program preparation process of each speaker, and the benefits of program participation. Speakers did their utmost to provide practical help to interested students considering applying for a future global exchange program by vividly conveying their experiences and precautionary tips. Lee Jaeseo, a student from Global Cooperation Major '20, joined the event and had this to say about it, "I thought it was a good opportunity to learn more about the global exchange program that I am, at the moment, somewhat interested in. It not only helped me think more about preparations and exchange program goals, but it also helped me to become more mentally motivated listening to speakers practicing self-improvement from all over the world." As Lee contends, the event was of great help to participants in various ways. The event also gave former experienced participants the opportunity to highlight their experience and reflect on meaningful memories. The event gave interested students the chance to learn more about global exchange programs and what to expect in order to be fully prepared to enjoy their experiences abroad.
