On April 7th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m, the College of Liberal Arts held a festival at Queen Sunheon Square. Following the success of the previous year’s festival, the College of Liberal Arts decided to make the festival an annual event. Students were offered unique experiences such as tasting Korean, and foreign snacks, participating in historic quizzes and taking pictures in traditional clothing. Kim Chaeun, the head of the Planning Department stated, “Last year’s festival was an opportunity for 2,000 College of Liberal Arts students to come together to organize a fun-filled gathering. This year we had the festival focus on unity among all the College of Liberal Arts students.” Many Sookmyungians showed interest as they walked past students holding up handmade signs advertising their respective departments. Lee Sumin from the Division of Computer Science ’14, said, “I enjoyed the festival because I could enjoy various cultures’ traditional tasty snacks.” Success came not only from the offering of unusual treats, but also from each major’s booths, which had special decorations and images that captivated students. Students operating the booths interacted with guests, which proved that the festival was a great occasion to get together and become closer. Many Sookmyungians and College of Liberal Arts students look forward to next year’s festival.
