On October 16, the "UC Berkeley Information Session for Summer Program" was held by the Office of International Affairs of Sookmyung Women's University. This program was conducted by an official from Berkeley University, introducing Berkeley Summer Sessions. According to an official from Berkeley University, Berkeley has more than 5,000 domestic and international exchange students join each summer to study alongside UC Berkeley students, so they can study with students from various countries. In the video of the program, a student who took this summer session said it was a great opportunity to gain a lot of experience with various people in Berkeley during that time. In this regard, she talked about Berkeley's academic culture, especially highlighting faculty office hours, where students can meet with faculty to ask anything at any time in order to get help with their studies. Also, students can choose from undergraduate courses in more than 80 subjects, including engineering, social sciences, architecture, and more. The courses are offered in seven different sessions, but the one in conjunction with SMWU is "Session C," which runs from late June to mid August, and "Session D," which runs from early July to mid August. Finally, she concluded by summarizing various reasons why students should consider it, presenting the Berkeley buzzwords of Challenge Yourself, Be Social, and Explore. Hyun Ye-na, a student in the Division of Business Administration '22 said, "It was a program that has made me want to go to Berkeley more. I considered it as an option of becoming an exchange student and this short-term program, and I think it's better because there is a wide range of applications and requirements for official English grades and scholarships." It seems that the students were able to obtain valuable information about this fair by communicating directly with an official from Berkeley.
