On August 19th, Samsung Electronics introduced its latest product, the Galaxy Note S7. The phone was a hit even before its release into the market. People were advance ordering the product to ensure they would get one before the shops ran out. Galaxy Note S7 seemed great with its new water-proof and security systems. However, people soon discovered it was flawed; the battery for the phone explodes. News of the explosions were quickly uploaded on SNS sites and blogs and covered regularly in the news. Large numbers of people complained that the phone exploded as it was charging or just all of a sudden without any apparent reason. An older couple received third-degree burns because of one such explosion. Another Galaxy Note S7 phone exploded on an IndiGo airline flight on September 23th, which was headed to Indonesia. With all these explosions, Samsung Electronics devised a solution that would not only stop the explosions from occurring but also compensate customers for the damage they incurred. Samsung recalled its Galaxy Note S7 product and offers to change the battery for free. Samsung also offers customers the opportunity to exchange the Note S7 for either a new phone or one of Samsung’s other products, namely Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge plus, S7, S7 Edge and Note 5. Samsung Electronics has also offered to reimburse customers 30,000 won for any damage caused by the Galaxy Note S7. Though Samsung Electronics has dealt with the problem fast, the disappointment felt by the masses in Samsung cannot be erased.
