It’s already March, and now the new semester of 2012 will begin.
During winter vacation, I went to Paris through the 2011 Winter Global Explore Program. It was my second time in Paris, but it was still an awesome place. As a member of Sookmyng Press Team, I visited various institutes like EFAP, ESSEC, Dauphine University. The chance to take a class in EFAP about public relations was the most impressive experience. If I was not in the Sookmyung Times (SMT), I could not have this experience. Having a tour in ESSEC, listening to presentations, and having a lunch with them. Actually, almost for 2 years, I had to give up many opportunities because of SMT. What I wanted to do can’t be done together. However, I never once regretted my decision.
On my way from Paris to Seoul, I saw The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and there was a line which touched my heart. “Take it from an old spectator. Life’s not a spectator sport. If watchin’ is all you’re gonna do, then you’re gonna watch your life go by without ya.” And this is what I want to say, Sookmyungians. I can live like an ordinary student, but I choose be a reporter in The Sookmyung Times, so I can have a chance like the Global Explore Program for 10 days. Don’t just let your life pass you by.
