SMU and the Royal Academy of Music in the UK held Music Festival from March 26th to March 31th. This Music Festival is the second festival of SMU and Royal Academy of Music on the SMU campus. The first festival was held in 2009. This event is projected for an ensemble of all professors and students in both colleges of music in SMU and the Royal Academy of Music. On the first day of the festival, SMU’s students performed orchestral music, and on the second day, professors at SMU had a great performance on the stage. On the 31st, the very last day of these events, both SMU and the Royal Academy of Music’s students had an accompanied performance as an orchestra under the baton of Professor Kim Kyunghee from the College of Music. Hong Soonil from the Department of Statistics ’11, who watched the concert, said “I think this festival means a great deal to SMU, because it is not a common chance to play with a very famous team as the Royal Academy of Music.” The festival finished with good success.
